For instance, a gearbox with a ratio of 100:1 means that the output shaft will rotate 100 times slower than the input shaft while providing higher torque output. Conversely, a gearbox with a ratio of 005 means that the output shaft will rotate faster than the input shaft but with reduced torque output.
