Metronix smartServo goes large

Building on the latest BL4000 series smartServo hardware platform, Metronix are extending their latest range of servo drive by four additional power levels.

The current BL4100 range of single phase, 230Vac servo drives, currently available in 2Amp/400W and 4Amp (800W), is to be extended with an 8Amp/1600W version.

The BL4300 three-phase 400Vac versions will see a 20Amp/8kW, 40Amp/16kw and water-cooled 60A/18kW sizes added to the current 4Amp/1.6kW, 8Amp/3.2kW and 12Amp/4.8kW line up.

The entire smartServo family of drives are direct on-line, with no additional filters, chokes or brake resistors required for compliance with EMC requirements. The Universal Enoder Interface facilitates connection to most available feedback types, including resolver, analogue and digital incremental encoders, EnDAT 2.1 and 2.2, Hiperface and Hiperface DSL, FA-CODER and Nikon A-Format.

Additional standard features include a microSD card slot and BlueTOOTH for simplified configuration, datalogging and device monitoring.

The ServoCommander PC-software provides a truly user-friendly platform for the drive configuration, that even novices to servo systems will be able to master. The integrated Technology Functions provide the platform for applications such as positioning, linked motion tasks, flying-saw, electronic gearing, synchronisation, cam disk and rotary table, all without the need for an external controller.

Add to all this the standard STO – safe torque off compliance, and it is easy to see why they call it the smartServo

MX-D-BL4100C - features

The smartServo also provides connectivity for EtherNET, USB, CanOPEN, EtherCAT, ProfiNET and PowerLINK (due Q4/2023), out of the box.
