Behind the scenes at Machine Building North

Thrills, Connections, and Concorde: Highlights from the Concorde Conference Centre

We had an incredible time exhibiting at Machine Building North at the Concorde Conference Centre last week – thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand! From exciting new partnerships to simulator antics and a nostalgic Concorde tour, the day was full of memorable moments.

One of the highlights was meeting Magdalena from SMS in Barnsley. After a great conversation, it became clear there’s potential for a future collaboration – and we’re genuinely excited about what that might look like.

We were also thrilled to welcome Roy Conway from the University of Manchester, who popped by with details of an exciting new project. We’ll be diving into that soon – more on this in future updates!

It was also a pleasure to see our long-standing friends from KEBAHans-Peter and Lars, thank you for making the time to come by. It’s always great to reconnect in person.

And let’s not forget the simulator… Victoria, Steven, and Filip had an absolute blast being tossed around in it! The laughter was contagious, and it definitely added a fun twist to the day.

A particularly special moment was welcoming Ian and Myra, the retired founders of motec. They joined us for a lovely visit and even enjoyed a guided tour of the legendary Concorde aircraft – a fitting setting for two people who helped get us off the ground (pun intended!).

All in all, it was a fantastic day packed with great conversations, new ideas, and plenty of energy.

We’re now gearing up for our next event: SME Week at the NEC, Birmingham (4–5 June). Come find us at stand 5-K92 – we’d love to see you there!

Until then, The team here at motec – Automating your world
