Our range of sensors come, primarily, from Lenord+Bauer a market leader in sensing products. Their sensors work on a magnetic scanning principle that, in conjunction with a toothed wheel or measuring rod,  permit the measurement of rotary and linear motion. This solution is contact-less, exceptionally space-saving and robust.

The sensors can be found in applications including rail and track vehicles, wind turbines, forestry equipment, cranes and hoists and many more. They are also integrated into motors and gearboxes for applications in hazardous environments, and are an industry standard in machine-tool spindles. The MiniCODER series also offer precise position feedback, both incremental and absolute.

Housed units are also available for heavy industry applications including steel works, brick and cement, glass, etc. as well as presses, guillotine and other machines subject to high shock and vibration.

With wide acceptance in the rail industry, Lenord+Bauer also offer complementary products such as temperature sensors, vibration sensors and odometers.

Speed, vibration and temperature sensors

Our robust speed, vibration and temperature sensors deliver reliable information about the condition of your system, enabling you to detect malfunctions at an early stage and avoid unplanned downtimes.

Speed sensors detect rotational and linear motion of a measuring scale that is structurally separated from the sensor like target wheels or measuring rods. Thanks to the magnetic sensing principle they are particularly suited for continuous operation in durable capital goods.

Our temperature sensors use resistance thermometers that feature an almost temperature-linear resistance curve, and output the resulting measurement data as electrical signal.

Our acceleration sensors are mainly used to measure the tower oscillation of wind turbines.

MiniCODER

Derived from the traditional ‘housed’ magnetic encoders, the MiniCODER’s have been offering a ‘different’ approach to many speed and position feedback requirements. The sensor elements, magnet and the state-of-the-art integrated electronics are encapsulated in  a compact sensing head, which can be integrated inside the likes of motors, gearboxes and other power transmission components. The design ensures an electrically and mechanically highly robust product. MiniCODER’s can be implemented on high speed applications in excess of 70,000rpm

Encoders

A rotary encoder, also called a shaft encoder, is an electro-mechanical device that converts the angular position of a shaft or axle to an analogue or digital code, making it an angle transducer. Rotary encoders are used in many applications that require precise position feedback including industrial controls, robotics, automation systems, machine tools, etc.

Encoders can be used to track position within one rotation or over a required (even endless) number of rotations, depending on the requirement.
