The SBL motors are three-phase AC brushless synchronous servomotors for demanding servo applications. The permanents magnets are made of samarium-cobalt.

The brushless design means the motors are virtually maintenance free. Commutation is controlled by a suitable servo amplifier.

A resolver supplies the position feedback which the servo amplifiers can also translate into an incremental (up to 16384 pulses per revolution) or cyclic absolute (up to 4096 positions per revolution) position value.

The motors have a 6 pole winding. The resolver is 2 pole. Motors are available for 320V or 560V operation. Other windings on request.
